Kumbhalgarh Fort Udaipur – UNESCO World Heritage Site

Kumbhalgarh Fort, located about 100 km from Udaipur, is one of the most magnificent forts of Rajasthan and a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Nestled amidst the Aravalli Hills and lush green forests, it is the second most important fort of Mewar after Chittorgarh and the second largest fort in Rajasthan.

Built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha and later renovated by Maharana Fateh Singh in the 19th century, the fort stands as a symbol of Rajput valor and architectural brilliance. Its massive walls stretch over 36 km, making them the second longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China.

Kumbhalgarh Fort houses over 360 temples (300 Jain and 60 Hindu), grand palaces, and intricate structures, offering visitors a glimpse into the glorious history of Mewar. Surrounded by the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, the fort also provides breathtaking panoramic views of the Aravalli ranges.
