Shrinathji Temple Nathdwara – Second Richest Temple in the World

Shrinathji Temple, located in Nathdwara about 48 km from Udaipur, is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for devotees of Lord Krishna. The temple enshrines the idol of Shrinathji, a manifestation of Lord Krishna as a seven-year-old child lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the people of Braj from torrential rains.

The deity’s idol, carved from a single block of black marble, depicts Lord Krishna with his left hand raised holding the Govardhan and his right hand closed in a fist. This unique form makes Shrinathji one of the most sacred images of Lord Krishna worshipped worldwide.

Set amidst the picturesque Aravalli Hills, Shrinathji Temple is not only a spiritual hub but also renowned as the second richest temple in the world. Despite its simple architecture, the temple’s aura, divine rituals, and vibrant festivals attract lakhs of devotees every year. Visiting this temple offers a soulful experience of Pushtimarg traditions and the eternal charm of Lord Krishna.
