Maharana Pratap Smarak Udaipur – Memorial on Moti Magri with Chetak Statue
Maharana Pratap Memorial (Pratap Smarak) is a significant historical attraction in Udaipur, dedicated to the legendary Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap. Located atop Moti Magri (Pearl Hill), the memorial overlooks the scenic Fateh Sagar Lake, offering both cultural value and breathtaking views.
The memorial was initiated by Maharana Bhagwat Singh of Mewar with the support of a public trust. Its highlight is the life-sized bronze statue of Maharana Pratap riding his loyal horse, Chetak, symbolizing bravery, sacrifice, and honor.
According to local legends, Chetak was Maharana Pratap’s most faithful companion, who fought courageously in battles and stood by his master until his last breath. Today, the site serves as a reminder of Mewar’s valor and heritage, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and tourists exploring Udaipur.
