Shilpgram Udaipur – Rural Arts and Crafts Village

Shilpgram, meaning “Craftsmen’s Village,” is a unique Rural Arts and Crafts Complex located near Hawala village, just west of Udaipur. Spread across 70 acres of scenic land in the Aravalli Hills, Shilpgram serves as a living ethnographic museum that beautifully showcases the rich culture, traditions, and lifestyle of the folk and tribal communities of Western India.

The complex features traditional huts and structures representing the architectural styles of different regions across five states – Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh. Each hut is built with authentic designs and materials, reflecting the ethnic diversity and heritage of rural India.

Shilpgram is also famous for hosting the Shilpgram Festival, an annual celebration of arts, crafts, music, and dance where artisans and performers gather to exhibit their talent. Visitors can explore handcrafted items, textiles, pottery, and tribal art, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic cultural experience in Udaipur.
